The best way to find out more is to come along to one of our club shoots. You can chat with our members, ask any questions you might have and see archery for yourself.
Before joining the club new archers having past their 12th birthday must complete a six week beginner’s course, this covers the fundamentals of archery and how to shoot safely. We run these courses several times each year so there shouldn’t be long to wait even if you’ve just missed one.
All the equipment you’ll need to try archery is provided by the club. We have a wide range of modern equipment available for beginners to use both during their course and once they join as regular members. However, after the completion of the course a nominal fee of £1 per session will be payable along with the session shooting fee to help us maintain and replace the equipment.
The course costs £40 which includes equipment use and tuition by Archery GB qualified coaches, each lesson runs for 2 or 3 hours. The 6 or on some occations 4 lessons will be run on a Saturday during both summer outdoor, and winter indoor seasons. however, during the outdoor season it may possibly be on a Tuesday and or Thursday evening as well.
Following the course you will be able to join the club as a member on payment of joining fees and insurance.
